Max Marshall’s Color Field gum dichromate prints are characterized by an intuitive arrangement of color, shape, and form. His work explores the spiritual effects of photographic mandalas and their alchemical fusion with colorful abstract compositions. He draws on a multitude of 20th Century painting references, from Abstract Expressionism, Color Field Painting, and Neo Tantrism.

Drawn to the rich patina of time, his work reproduces a color palette reflective of the sun-stained walls of Indian street corners and Moroccan Bazaars. Through an expressive framework of symbolic diagrams and timeless symmetry, his work is created to have universal appeal and speak to people across all cultures and time.

He has exhibited work in New York, Barcelona, Los Angeles, and Portland Maine.
